Melissa McCarthy, Kyle Chandler, Julianna Margulies & Modern Family Among The Winners In Primetime Emmys: Modern Family won the Emmy Awards Sunday at the 63rd Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles as the hit ABC swept all five categories he was nominated in: Best Comedy, Best Supporting Actor "Ty Burrell" Actress " Julie Bowen "Best Screenplay and direction. The night definitely had its share of surprises Melissa McCarthy captured best actress in a comedy for Mike & Molly while Kyle Chandler won best actor in a drama for Friday Night Lights. Second place immediately after his appointment, Julianna Margulies, finally won the best actress in a drama for his role in the acclaimed The Good Wife, Kate Winslet won the best actress in a miniseries or movie for Mildred Pierce, Martin Scorsese has taken home Best Direction in a drama for Boardwalk Empire, and Mad Men won for best drama.
